It is well positioned for a variety of activities whether its walking The Southern Upland Way, diving at St Abbs Head, bird watching at St Abbs Head or Lindisfarne Nature Reserve, golfing on some of Scotland’s top links courses (Gullane, Muirfield - 35 minutes drive). There are lots of historic castles and houses to visit, Bamburgh, Alnwick, Manderston to name but a few! Boats trips can be taken from Eyemouth to see seals and ancient smugglers caves, horse riding can be booked nearby. The stunning coast offers some spectacucular beaches, Coldingham Bay is 5 miles and is renowned for its surfing (board hire available).
Cheswick & Goswick Beaches stretch for miles towards Holy Island and are pretty deserted, Coldingham and Cove are lovely places for a day out with bucket, spade and a picnic! Fishing on The River Tweed can be booked. Edinburgh is within easy reach for a day trip (45 Miles), the Edinburgh International Festival, Fringe, International Book Festival and International Film Festival are on during the month of August.The Borders Book Festival in Melrose in is on in June.
